The overall export turnover reached 906.5 million USD, with black\npepper accounting for 770.6 million USD and white pepper reaching 135.9 million\nUSD. Compared to 2022, the export volume increased by 13.8%, but the export\nturnover decreased by 8.0%. The average export price for black pepper was 3,585\nUSD per ton, and for white pepper, it was 5,091 USD per ton. Compared to 2022,\nthe export prices for black and white pepper decreased by 420 USD and 635 USD\nper ton respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asia remained the largest export market for Vietnamese pepper,\ncapturing 52.7% of the market share. Compared to 2022, the export volume to\nAsia increased by 29.6%. China was the leading market with 60,135 tons,\naccounting for 22.8% of Vietnam&#8217;s export market share, and experiencing a\n174.0% increase. Following were India with 12,812 tons (4.9%, up 4.2%), UAE\nwith 12,132 tons (4.6%, down 24.7%), and the Philippines with 8,021 tons (3.0%,\nup 27.5%). In the Americas, which held a 22.8% market share, exports increased\nby 0.3%, with the United States being the second-largest market for Vietnamese\npepper, reaching 54,271 tons (20.5%, down 0.8%) compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exports to European markets accounted for 19.5%, showing a 1.4%\ndecrease from the previous year. Major export markets included Germany with\n9,216 tons (3.5%, down 4.5%), the Netherlands with 7,946 tons (3.0%, down\n1.9%), Russia with 5,490 tons (2.1%, down 12.7%), and the UK with 4,923 tons\n(1.9%, down 3.0%). Exports to Turkey, France, and Spain increased, while\nexports to Ireland decreased by 75.8%, reaching 1,194 tons. Exports to Africa\nincreased by 7.8%, with Egypt reaching 4,247 tons (up 23.5%), South Africa with\n2,408 tons (up 17.0%), and Senegal with 2,372 tons (up 41.1%). Major markets\nfor white pepper exports included the United States with 3,759 tons, Germany\nwith 3,324 tons, China with 2,828 tons, the Netherlands with 2,663 tons, and\nThailand with 2,307 tons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in 2023, Vietnam imported a total of 26,538 tons of various\ntypes of pepper, with 24,903 tons of black pepper and 1,635 tons of white\npepper. Compared to 2022, the import volume decreased by 27.7%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main pepper-supplying countries to Vietnam\nincluded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Brazil: 16,598 tons,\nholding 62.5% of the market share and increasing by 31.6% compared to the\nprevious year.<\/li><li>Cambodia: 3,763 tons,\nrepresenting 14.2%, and decreasing by 71.7%.<\/li><li>Indonesia: 3,237 tons,\ncapturing 12.2%, and decreasing by 37.6%.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2023, Vietnam exported a total of 264,094 tons of various types of pepper, including 236,148 tons of black pepper and 27,946 tons of white pepper.
